Personal note for John: I'm a member of the Supporter Services team here at the IRC and I'm trying to reach out to as many of our supporters as I can. Since you're a valued member of the IRC community, I wanted to make sure you were one of the first to know about this opportunity to amplify your impact: To mark the tenth year of the crisis in Syria, an anonymous donor will contribute $10,000 for families in crisis zones — IF we can get 100 new monthly donors to sign up. Will you be one of them?

10-year-old Syrian children — like Ali*, in the photo above — have grown up knowing nothing but life in a country at war. They have witnessed unimaginable horrors over the past decade.

With bombs dropping around them, Syrian children have seen their homes destroyed, their friends and relatives killed or catastrophically wounded. Many are living with injuries themselves.

In a crisis like this one, it can be difficult to maintain hope. But I do have hope — because of people like you, John, and the courage and resilience of the children and families in Syria.

When crisis hits, the IRC provides urgent aid as well as longer-term support that helps people recover and rebuild their lives. We've been delivering aid inside Syria since 2012, reaching more than 900,000 Syrians inside their country — and many more who fled across borders. This wouldn't be possible without the steadfast support of monthly donors — our Rescue Partners.

Monthly donors are the backbone of our work. John, please, would you consider joining us today? To mark the tenth year of the crisis in Syria, an anonymous donor will contribute $10,000 — IF we can get 100 new monthly donors to sign up.

I correspond with wonderful supporters like you every day. I'm continually moved to hear their reasons for giving monthly to the IRC. One donor, R.L. from Silver Spring, Maryland., told us:

"I give to the IRC because every human being has dignity and worth. As a citizen of the world, we all have a responsibility to help each other out."

That's how I feel too — as an IRC staff member and a resettled refugee from Sri Lanka.

John, your passion for helping refugees means you understand that refugees and displaced families don't need help one day a year, or even one month a year.

People impacted by war, violence and persecution — in crisis zones like Syria, for example — need to know they can count on us... every day of every month… all year long. Our staff is on the ground to help them survive, recover and rebuild their lives. And we stay for as long as people and communities need us.

And if you set up your monthly donation today, you can help us unlock $10,000 for families in crisis zones like Syria. We simply need 100 new monthly donors to sign up — and an anonymous donor will contribute an extra $10,000 for families in crisis zones.

As a Rescue Partner, your monthly support can, for example:
Diagnose, and provide treatment, emergency food and follow-up care to children suffering from malnutrition.
Provide critical health care to people in some of the toughest and most remote places on earth through our mobile medical clinics and health centers.
Protect women and girls from violence, help children recover from trauma and continue to learn, and empower people to rebuild their lives.
Help us contain the spread of COVID-19 and care for people affected by the virus.
Even just $10 a month will make a meaningful difference. → $10 a month=emergency food for 13 children, for example

And today, if we get 100 new monthly donors to sign up, your gift could help unlock an extra $10,000 — amplifying our impact for families in need.
