That's Richard Trumka, the president of the AFL-CIO, talking about the filibuster. If Democrats don't act, the GOP will use the Senate filibuster to block everything on President Biden's agenda, from raising the minimum wage to passing critical voting rights legislation.
The GOP even forced the Senate to spend over 10 hours reading the 600-page stimulus bill out loud to delay a vote. During that time, 870 Americans died of COVID-19 -- and their malicious use of this roadblock will cost even more lives if we don't take it away.
