John,
When the House of Representatives passed the Equality Act -- historic legislation amending the Civil Rights Act -- we took a first, major step towards achieving equality for our LGBTQ friends, family, and neighbors.
As we passed that historic bill, one House Republican, noted QAnon-believer Marjorie Taylor Greene, chose to attack my colleague Rep. Marie Newman’s transgender daughter on Twitter and hung a blatantly transphobic poster on the wall outside her office -- right across the hall from Rep. Newman.
Transgender folks face discriminatory actions like Rep. Greene’s every day.
And what’s worse?
In many areas, they don’t have legal protections from discrimination in public accommodations like clothes stores, restaurants, and movie theaters and can be denied access to educational opportunities.
John, it’s time for that to change. That’s why we’re calling on the Senate to build on our work and pass the Equality Act as soon as possible. Join me in showing your support for LGBTQ equality by signing onto our petition right now.

We need to make it clear to everyone: LGBTQ rights are human rights, and no one should be discriminated against because of who they are or who they love.
LGBTQ Americans deserve to know that they are seen, valued, and respected -- they deserve the protections afforded by the Equality Act.
Right now, fewer than 25 states have protections for LGBTQ folks coded into law. That is unacceptable.
We have a chance to protect our friends and neighbors all across the country, but we all need to come together to show our support.
John, join your voice with mine right now and demand the Senate stand up for the LGBTQ community and pass the Equality Act.
