Women across the country deserve equal pay and workplace pregnancy protections!

Dear John,

Today, NWLC President & CEO Fatima Goss Graves is testifying in front of Congress during a hearing on two crucial bills that could change the lives of women and families across the country:

  • The Paycheck Fairness Act, which would strengthen our equal pay laws to help close the wage gap and end pay discrimination.
  • The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, which would provide a reasonable accommodation for pregnant workers when they need temporary workplace adjustments to stay healthy.

Both bills are critical to helping women achieve equality at work. Tell Congress that it is time to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act NOW!

Tell Congress: Support the Paycheck Fairness Act and the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act TODAY!

Contact your representatives and urge them to support H.R. 7 & H.R. 1065 today!

TAKE ACTION

We’re one year into a global health crisis and women are bearing the brunt of its devastating health and economic consequences. Women, especially women of color, are overrepresented in front-line jobs, risking their lives daily, yet are being paid less than men in the same occupations. The wage gap has robbed women of their ability to weather COVID-19, costing women tens of thousands of dollars every year and hundreds of thousands over a lifetime.

At the same time, many pregnant workers in front-line jobs need accommodations to stay healthy—like a nurse who temporarily may not be able to lift patients or a home health aide who needs protective gear that fits a growing pregnancy—but a lack of clear legal protection means too often they are pushed out of work just as their families can least afford to lose a paycheck.

We urgently need Congress to show up for women and support policies that will uplift them economically and create a fairer workplace.

We deserve to have equal pay and laws that protect our health. Tell your representatives in Congress we need them to support both the Paycheck Fairness Act and Pregnant Workers Fairness Act today!

Sincerely,

Maya Raghu
