Last night left us horrified, shocked, and saddened, but not surprised. We must demand justice and accountability for these recent Atlanta shootings.

** It’s time to raise our voices and unite against anti-Asian hate!
------------------------------------------------------------
We are horrified, shocked, and saddened by the 8 tragic shooting deaths, 6 of whom were Asian women, at 3 Atlanta area spas. The incident was clearly aimed at stoking terror in our community but we will not be cowed, even by this escalation in hatred against us. We refuse to sit by and ignore the recent precipitous rise in anti-Asian violence.
Now is the time for action. Join the AAAFund family and Congresswoman Grace Meng (NY-06) and post a statement condemning the anti-Asian violence next Friday, March 26!
In our Board’s statement, our Georgia Chapter President, Cam Ashling, said, “Hate doesn’t wait. We cannot wait until APA Heritage Month in May for our community to be heard and recognized and for policies to change. The threat is here, it’s real, and even as we grieve, we organize.”
The history of anti-Asian hatred and violence runs deep in our country. Asian women are disproportionately harmed. Today, we refuse to be silent.

** Show your support for…
------------------------------------------------------------
Congresswoman Meng and Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii and the bill they recently introduced ([link removed]) to address the recent violence against Asian Americans!
The COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act would make anti-Asian hate crimes a priority at the DOJ and support state and local police efforts to investigate.
** Call out the naysayers…

If you’re in the district of one of these members of Congress, make sure they know you support Rep. Meng’s resolution! It is unconscionable to do nothing, given the continued violence against Asian Americans.
** Your voice matters!

We also encourage you to report any racially motivated incidents you may have encountered to our friends at Stop AAPI Hate ([link removed]) . The reporting center has diligently compiled records of over 3,700 hate incidents ([link removed]) against our community — mostly against women.
