Aerial spraying toxic chemicals — like Round-Up — to “manage” Maine’s forests is a bad idea. Unfortunately, this practice is on the rise in our state.

Join us at noon tomorrow for a Lunch & Learn with Senate President Troy Jackson about his bill to ban aerial spraying of glyphosate and other synthetic herbicides -- and how we can encourage a shift toward more ecologically friendly forestry practices. Also joining the conversation will be Heather Spalding , deputy director of MOFGA; Peter Hagerty , who brings 40 years of experience logging in Maine; Jim Gerritsen , from Wood Prairie Organic Farm; and Mitch Lansky , author of Low-Impact Forestry: Forestry As If The Future Mattered.
