On January 6th, as Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol, DC’s Mayor Muriel Bowser could not call in the National Guard or other reinforcements to defend our capital on her own. She needed the president’s approval.

As a result, the deadly insurrection continued for hours, threatening our democracy. We need to give DC statehood IMMEDIATELY.
