Danny's message: We're lobbying next week to show support for carbon pricing
Next week, CCL volunteers will head into meetings with hundreds of members of Congress. Our primary goal in these lobby meetings is to demonstrate support for carbon pricing so that this essential tool is included in legislation that Congress will consider this year. In a new recorded message for volunteers, CCL VP for Government Affairs Danny Richter said, "We're still not sure that a carbon price will be included in [President] Biden's climate package at all. Of course, we'd really like to see that, and so the primary asks are all geared toward showing as much support for a carbon price, especially fees and taxes, as we possibly can.” During a special lobby training earlier this month, Danny reviewed the primary and supporting asks that volunteers will take into next week’s meetings. To help with our lobbying pitch, one-page handouts — “Carbon Pricing is Popular” and “Business Statements on Carbon Pricing” — are available on this CCL Community Resources page.
