Saturday, March 20th is an International Day of Action in solidarity with the Alabama Amazon warehouse workers who are fighting to form the nation's first union at an Amazon workplace!
Nearly 5,800 workers, 70% of whom are Black, have begun standing up against the second largest company in the country and the second richest man in the world, Jeff Bezos. In 2020, Bezos made $35 MILLION PER HOUR, while most Amazon workers made only $15 per hour. They also work under grueling, unsafe, stressful conditions, risking their lives during the pandemic. If this historic union election wins, it will send an inspiring message to non-unionized workers across the country. However, Amazon has spent nearly $10,000 PER DAY on a powerful propaganda campaign to pressure workers to vote against unionizing.
A strong show of solidarity here in Amazon's hometown will send an inspiring message to the Alabama workers that we've got their backs. The rally and march will also educate people about the PRO Act, which would remove legal obstacles to unionization, and we’ll call on President Biden and the Senate to pass this crucial bill. Join us and invite friends!
