John, last night, a series of shootings occurred at different massage parlors across Atlanta that left multiple Asian women dead.

To our Asian neighbors, family, and friends: We know that the world seems more scary today. More cruel. Know that we love you. We mourn those killed last night in Atlanta with you. We will dismantle white supremacy alongside you.

Last night was a chilling reminder that there is so much work to be done to end anti-Asian violence in our country and protect women of color. It is Congress’ job now to progress this work by passing the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act.

Today, the U.S. House voted to pass the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act and include additional funding for efforts to prevent and combat sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking, and deliver assistance to victims.

Now, this historic bill is on its way to the Senate: Will you add your name to our petition urging the U.S. Senate to pass the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act? [[link removed]]

As a survivor of domestic violence and sexual assault, this fight is personal for Cori. She understands the pain and struggles so many women, especially women of color, face and the urgent need for our leaders to take action.

That’s why Cori introduced two new amendments to the Violence Against Women Act to take our fight to the next level:

*
Amendment
#2:
Ensures
that
survivors
of
domestic
violence
who
seek
help
from
the
Office
on
Violence
Against
Women’s
(OVW)
transitional
housing
programs
would
be
protected
from
unfair
eviction.
This
helps
ensure
that
survivors
don’t
lose
housing
due
to
crimes
perpetrated
against
them
by
abusers.
*
Amendment
#3:
Requires
the
Attorney
General
to
release
public
reports
on
police
sexual
misconduct.

Both amendments passed the U.S. House of Representatives today. Cori has made it clear she will not rest until Congress follows her lead in protecting and progressing the rights of women.

We're going to need to organize, advocate, and get Cori’s colleagues in the Senate on our side for the upcoming vote to pass the Violence Against Women Act. Please show your support now by adding your name to our petition and calling on the Senate to vote yes on this bill. [[link removed]]
