It’s absolutely sinister what Republicans are advocating for: They would make it a criminal offense to hand a bottle of water to a voter who is in line, even if they’ve been standing in line for hours in the summer heat. One Republican lawmaker in Arizona remarked that Republicans must move quickly because Democratic voters are inferior and the ‘quality’ of their votes dilute democracy — basically advocating for democracy via eugenics. If they get their way, not only will Republicans silence tens of millions of Americans: They will be stealing House seats, Senate seats, Governor’s seats, and potentially the White House in the process.
