Hello John,

Last night, we saw a devastating example of the plague of anti-Asian sentiment sweeping our country. Tragically, 8 individuals lost their life to a hate-inspired act of domestic terrorism.

Our country still has a long way to go before Asian Americans will feel safe in their communities -- the horrifying racially-motivated shooting in Georgia that left six Asian women dead is a terrifying indicator of just how much we have to do before these devastating attacks stop.

The responsibility to continue speaking out against these injustices falls on each and every one of us until Asian Americans don't have to fear being attacked or killed, and we're grateful you're not staying silent. It's going to take a long time to reverse the anti-Asian hate that flourished under Trump and the GOP, so we need you to be extra proactive about calling out this racism when you see it.

As our country grapples with this devastating outpouring of racism-fueled violence, we've seen many signs of hope -- people of every age, ethnicity, and religion have attended rallies in every part of our nation to show support for Asian Americans as they navigate these dangerous times. Biden has set a national example by publicly condemning the rise in targeted attacks, and Rep. Grace Meng and Sen. Mazie Hirono have both introduced anti-Asian hate crime legislation in the House and Senate.

While last night's events are a terrible reminder of the hate in our country, there are so many spots of hope on the horizon. For every act of racist violence, there are countless people like you willing to stand up and fight for a better, safer future.

Thank you again, John. We're so grateful for your unwillingness to give up the fight to end these dangerous and racist attacks in our country, we couldn't do it without people like you.
