Enough is Enough
Last week was difficult. We began with International Women's Day celebrations and finished with many of us feeling angry, frustrated and afraid. On the same day we learned that nearly all women in the UK have been sexually harassed, we also learned of the kidnap and murder of Sarah Everard. And it's not just in the UK, the World Health Organisation reported that 1 in 3 women worldwide have been subjected violence.
Laura Bates' words on everyday sexism from 2013 still resonate strongly today. And while many are taking action, including these two incredible women working to stop street harassment, we have to ask: when will it stop? Enough is enough.
📢 Make misogyny a hate crime: Over 6,000 people joined in writing to their MPs asking for their support for amendment 87B to the Domestic Abuse Bill. Thank you to everyone who joined our call to action!
📢 Call for action: The Women's Equality Party have written an open letter to Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, and you can add your name.
📢 Your voice has power: The UK Government has reopened its call for evidence on Violence Against Women and Girls. Make your voice heard and let them know what it is like to walk in our shoes. Deadline: 26 March, 23:45.
📢 Men's role in gender equality: The Women's Equality Party Hackney is hosting an online panel discussion with mentors and movement leaders on men's role in gender equality. 23 March, 19:00 Book your place.

Thank you...
We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received in celebration of International Women's Day and Women's History Month.
A huge well-done to Rebel Riot Records, who smashed their fundraising target for their online event. And several more incredible supporters have taken on challenges to raise awareness and funds for Fawcett. We cannot say thank you enough!
And they are not alone, Cat and Mouse Greetings are donating a portion of their sales to Fawcett this month, along with Plum and Belle who will donate 10% from every sale this month. V By Laura Vann will donate 5% from all online sales during the month of March and Sophie Miranda has designed a limited edition t-shirt with Make Thread celebrating self-love with proceeds being donated to Fawcett.
