Dear John,

Our hearts are heavy as we process the horrific loss of eight innocent lives in the recent mass shooting in Atlanta, GA. According to law enforcement officials, six of the people killed were Asian, two were white, and all but one were women.

We stand with our Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities and condemn this senseless act of violence.

Grassroots organizations have raised concerns of a growing string of attacks against the AAPI community. While the motive behind this attack is still under investigation, it is vital that we do more to address anti-Asian bigotry and violence. Violence and hate against AAPI communities have no place in America.

We urge Georgia officials to provide in-language resources for crisis intervention. At these challenging times, we must unite and authentically address the root causes of violence and hate.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives.

In solidarity,

Wa'el Alzayat, Emgage CEO
