We are now 3 days away from the LA-05 special election and early voting has finally wrapped up.
Yesterday, we received the turnout data from early voting and we are in a great position. Throughout the one-week period of early voting 13660 Democrats showed up while 15199 Republican voters made it to the polls. In the last three days of early voting, we saw African-American voter turnout double on each consecutive day.
This leaves us with a differential of merely 1539 votes that we need to make up if we want to win this race in full by getting the 50% + 1 needed to win this race without going into a runoff.
Going in our favor is the difficulty the packed field of 9 Republicans will have in reaching this 50% + 1.
As a testament to the fear we are instilling amongst our Republican opponents, many of our supporters awoke on Monday to a last-minute poll from one of our main Republican opponents. These polls are not cheap and the purchase of one this late in the game is not the hallmark of a confident campaign.
