We are now 3 days away from the LA-05 special election and early voting has finally wrapped up.

Yesterday, we received the turnout data from early voting and we are in a great position. Throughout the one-week period of early voting 13660 Democrats showed up while 15199 Republican voters made it to the polls. In the last three days of early voting, we saw African-American voter turnout double on each consecutive day.

This leaves us with a differential of merely 1539 votes that we need to make up if we want to win this race in full by getting the 50% + 1 needed to win this race without going into a runoff.

Going in our favor is the difficulty the packed field of 9 Republicans will have in reaching this 50% + 1.

As a testament to the fear we are instilling amongst our Republican opponents, many of our supporters awoke on Monday to a last-minute poll from one of our main Republican opponents. These polls are not cheap and the purchase of one this late in the game is not the hallmark of a confident campaign.

From the very get-go, this has been an underdog campaign without the funding of major PACs or the DNC. The fact that we have gotten things this close is an incredible example of the power of our campaign's grassroots stemming from Candy & our supporter's deep communal organizing.

We have our sights set on winning this race on March 20th and we can do it. Our pathway to winning it all on Saturday, without a runoff, is still intact.

To do this we will be focused on targeting chronic voters (those who vote in every presidential election and midterm election) and first-time voters in our underperforming parishes (what we call counties in Louisiana) with get out the vote text messages, digital & radio ads, and calls from phone banks. All we need to purchase our next GOTV package is a mere $5000.

A miracle on the Mississipi is within reach and we need you to help us bring it to fruition. Please dig deep, and chip in whatever you can spare to push us across the line.

This race will be decided by a few thousand maybe even hundred votes, your contribution could make that difference.
