It's Judith Whitmer, your new statewide chair of the Nevada State Democratic Party, and I'm writing to you today to lay out our new executive board's immediate priorities and vision for growing and strengthening the Party.

We'll be working to increase Party membership through constituency organizing, measures to enhance diversity and inclusion, and highlighting Democratic achievements like the American Rescue Act and our efforts to improve life for working Nevadans across the state. The Party also unveiled specific plans to assist and educate Nevadans over the coming weeks and months on the benefits they will receive from President Biden's historic covid relief package.

Our vision is to build a Democratic Party that will best serve Nevada's working class families.

Before I get into the details of our plans, I want to encourage you to support our new NV Dems team by making a contribution. We're here to uplift working class Nevadans and to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in 2022 because, as I said on the campaign trail, we're not willing to concede a single seat to the GOP.

The past year has laid bare the need to transform systems and institutions that perpetuate poverty, lack of health care, mountains of debt and housing insecurity right here in Nevada. The NSDP's newly elected leadership is determined to steer the party in a direction where we prioritize addressing the most urgent needs of Nevadans, lifting up some of our most marginalized voices, and putting grassroots organizing at the heart of electing Democrats up and down the ballot.

NV Dems will launch a volunteer-run outreach program to provide Nevadans information on the American Rescue Plan, help them know what they qualify for and understand how they can receive the benefits.

For the next six months, NV Dems will target 500,000 Nevadans and their households through phone calls, text messaging, and door-to-door canvassing, particularly in hard to reach communities.

Help us reach Nevadans all across the state to ensure they receive the relief and assistance they need.

U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto and Jacky Rosen, and U.S. Representatives Dina Titus, Susie Lee and Steven Horsford all voted to advance President Biden's covid relief package, which was signed into law today.

The package includes, but is not limited to, the following:
$2.825 billion in state fiscal relief
$1.142 billion in local fiscal relief
More than $1.092 billion in relief for K-12 schools
Economic impact payments of up to $1,400 per person (above the $600 per person provided in December) for more than 1,851,200 adults and 750,900 children. This is 86% of all adults in the state and 90% of all children in the state.
Additional relief of up to $1,600 per child through the Child Tax Credit to the families of 634,000 children, lifting 40,000 children out of poverty
Additional relief of up to nearly $1,000 through the Earned Income Tax Credit to 169,000 childless workers, including many in frontline jobs
Marketplace health insurance premiums that are $1,138 lower per month for a 60-year old couple earning $75,000 per year
Not a single Republican voted in support of providing aid to thousands of Nevada families and financial resources that will help Nevada's economic recovery.

That's why we are so committed to electing Democrats up and down the ballot. With your support, I know we can ensure that working class Nevadans get the relief they need.
