I am one of nearly 200,000 of our neighbors, friends and family members who are living with insecurity and instability because of our legal status. My family, like so many thousands of families across the country, has struggled emotionally and economically during the pandemic. 

But that’s not all—not knowing whether my status as a DACA recipient is going to be revoked and my life upended, creates a whole other kind of stress for Dreamers, like me, and those with Temporary Protected Status (TPS). That’s why tomorrow’s potentially historic vote on the Dream and Promise Act (H.R.6) is so important to us. The bill holds the promise of a pathway to citizenship for tens of thousands of New Yorkers, TPS holders and Dreamers who have been living in fear for far too long.
 
Tell President Biden: We Need Citizenship Now!

We have given so much on the frontlines of this pandemic by keeping America fed, taking care of our elderly and sick and so much more—at great cost to our own health and safety. Providing a path to citizenship for our immigrant Essential Workers, Dreamers and TPS recipients is not only overdue, but is critical to our country’s economic recovery and long term success. It's also a vital first step towards a pathway to citizenship for all 11 million undocumented people living in this country.

Immigrants have always been essential to our country, but for decades, we’ve been denied access to the same rights and privileges as our neighbors. It’s time for that to change. We have an opportunity to reverse Trump’s legacy and build a brighter future for thousands of New York families, like mine, who call America home. 

Tell President Biden to keep his word and prioritize a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers, TPS recipients and our immigrant Essential Workers—citizenship is what New Yorkers like me need to recover and rebuild this country, together!
