Dear John,

As part of our Wildlife Month we are celebrating the wild animals we have all around us.

We can't forget one of the most common and successful UK species... rats!

We may not see rats very often but there are an estimated 150 million individuals living alongside us. And despite the poor (and misguided) view that many people have about these animals, they are just as wonderful as any other.

Check out our top 5 facts about rats here:
www.freedomforanimals.org.uk/blog/5-reasons-rats-are-amazing

We've also got a great webinar coming up on 29th March with two wildlife experts who will be talking to us about the wonders of seeing native wildlife in the wild vs captivity. You can join us for that by registering your free place here: www.freedomforanimals.org.uk/Event/wildlife-webinar

We are sharing lots of fascinating facts about wildlife on our social media pages too so make sure you are following us on there:

Join me at this *free* event with a panel of expert speakers, to discuss why we don't need to visit zoos to learn about or enjoy the presence of other animals.

Zoos are often cited as being essential for people to ‘get close to nature’ and learn about animals. Yet viewing animals in captivity we learn very little and the animals suffer greatly.

Our guest speakers have both focused their work on protecting wild spaces and their inhabitants. They will introduce us to some of the animals we can encounter in the wild and discuss how when we know more about them, how enriching that can be for both us and them.
Get your questions ready and join us on 29th March.
