Biden's illegal immigration agenda creates another child smuggling crisis <[link removed]> – The president’s executive orders have directed federal agencies to disregard U.S. law. The administration tore up agreements with Central American nations that had helped stop the uncontrolled flow of migrants. It abandoned the effective “Remain in Mexico” policy for asylum seekers that was critical to reducing fraudulent asylum claims. It has nearly eliminated ICE’s ability to deport those here illegally. And rather than securing the border, the administration is sending processors to the border to move illegal immigrants into the U.S. interior as quickly as possible. What’s the ultimate goal of this explosion of illegal immigrants into the United States? It certainly can’t be for the alleged humanitarian reasons we keep hearing about from our politicians. As the numbers rushing the border continue to grow, violent drug cartels are growing richer from smuggling fees, more children are being handed over to the custody of violent criminals, and kids are being stuffed into cramped holding facilities. That’s no one’s definition of humanitarian. Heritage experts: Jim Carafano <[link removed]>, Lora Ries <[link removed]>, and Mike Howell <[link removed]>

McConnell: If Democrats End Filibuster, GOP Will Use Stalling Tactics to Make Americans’ Voices Heard <[link removed]> – By eliminating the filibuster, the Left will be able to silence opposition in what should
be the world's most deliberative body, and pave the way for a socialist America. If the Democrats are successful, they’ll use this abusive power to expand the Supreme Court and confirm liberal justices, expand the House of Representatives, and add new states—all in the pursuit of consolidating progressive power for years to come. Eliminating the filibuster
will give the radical Left unrestricted ability to pass its progressive wishlist: court-packing, massive tax hikes, government-run health care, amnesty for illegal immigrants, gun confiscation laws, and the Green New Deal—for starters. Heritage expert: Tom

The Left’s New Constitution <[link removed]> – The woke Left understands that, as written and amended, the Constitution stands in the way of many of the things that it wants to do. This is why the Left has set about to cast the Constitution as illegitimate by, for example, purposely mischaracterizing the three-fifths compromise, pretending that the document perpetuated slavery, or calling it, as Kendi does, a “color-blind Constitution for a White-supremacist America.” Will the courts strike down these laws? Or will
they use them to build on the illegitimate new “constitution” of racial preferences? We will see. Heritage expert: Mike Gonzalez <[link removed]>

These Endless Public Health Mandates Threaten Americans’ Liberty <[link removed]> – As the nation sees improvement in the COVID-19 case numbers and hospitalizations, several
governors and local officials are returning personal and economic freedom to the people. Public health is critical, but that means health in all of its dimensions. Indeed, health is a holistic concept. The World Health Organization, for all of its past errors, has got this right: Health is not merely the absence of illness or infirmity, but a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. Government officials should strike a balance to ensure the public’s health is supported. This is not March 2020. It is March 2021. Public officials should act like it. The public is now educated as to what the virus is and who its chief victims are (the elderly and the infirm), and most understand the risk to themselves and others. Heritage expert: Amy Anderson <[link removed]>

Reviving the ERA: Congress Can’t Amend Resolution That Doesn’t Exist <[link removed]> – The Equal Rights Amendment died because the two reasons offered by its supporters
for its necessity were being accomplished without the constitutional amendment. That left only the unknown mischief that its vague language could be used to achieve. In other words, the ERA’s costs outweighed its benefits. Advocates can renew that fight if they choose, but will have to do it the right way by starting the amendment process from scratch. Congress, however, cannot amend a resolution that no longer exists. Heritage expert: Tom Jipping <[link removed]>

Justices’ Title VII ‘on Basis of Sex’ Ruling Spawning Unintended Consequences in Lower Courts <[link removed]> – To be sure, Gorsuch tried to cabin the court’s
decision to Title VII, saying, “[W]e have not had the benefit of adversarial testing about the meaning of [other statutes’] terms, and we do not prejudge any such question today.” The problem with that, however, is that it’s not the way lower courts work. What matters for them when they
are deciding similar—but not identical—cases to ones decided by the Supreme Court is the reasoning. And there were plenty of reasons to expect the lower courts would take Bostock and run with it. Now that some time has passed, we’ve been able to look at what the lower courts have done with Bostock, at least so far, and, sure enough, they’ve applied it to other statutes. In at least a dozen cases,
the courts have unsurprisingly extended Bostock’s definition of “sex” in Title VII to other statutes. Heritage expert: GianCarlo Canaparo <[link removed]>

5 Things to Know About Agriculture Amnesty Bill <[link removed]> – The House is rushing the bill to the floor without the
new Congress having a chance to discuss this extreme legislation in committee. If the House is going to grant amnesty to potentially millions of illegal workers and undermine the legal immigration system, then it should at least spend a proper amount of time thinking about the implications of taking such a drastic action. When considering immigration in agriculture, it isn’t a binary choice between doing nothing and creating
this extreme amnesty bill. There should be a thoughtful dialogue regarding how to improve the legal immigration system without simultaneously undermining its legitimacy. Legislators should take the time to come up with such a solution. Heritage expert: Daren Bakst <[link removed]>
