He's right. You could look at the statistics -- state legislators have introduced seven times as many voter suppression bills in 2021 as they did at about this time in 2020 -- but it's even more telling to look at what these bills actually do. They slash access to voting by mail. They ban ballot drop boxes. They make burdensome voter ID laws even more burdensome. They even prohibit volunteers from offering food and water to people waiting in line to vote!
