week, Eric and his colleagues in the House passed H.R. 8 to
require universal background checks and H.R. 1446 to close the
"Charleston Loophole." These two bills are important first steps
in the fight against gun violence.

We have the chance to turn the tide against so much senseless
gun violence in our country. Now that the House has passed these
bills, they're off to the Senate.

Now, we need to show broad public support for these
initiatives in a deadlocked Senate. Can we count on you to sign

This victory is huge! Over the past couple of years, Eric has
worked with gun safety advocates to fight hard for legislation
like this. Now, we have the chance to actually enact meaningful
legislation.

Ending the Charleston Loophole, which has allowed people who
would otherwise not be eligible for gun purchases to buy guns,
and requiring universal background checks are important first
steps in the fight against gun violence that has plagued our
country.

We are on the cusp of a huge victory for gun reform in
