Friend,
Can you believe the 81st Nevada Legislative Session is already down to
less than 80 days left? 😱 We can’t either! But as we await more bill
drafts and hearings, and cope with the virtual testimony environment, we
want to make sure you know what’s happened so far, and what to expect
coming up. This week’s Progressive University is our first Legislative
Update of the session!
[ [link removed] ]Join us tomorrow, Wednesday, March 17th at 5:00pm for Progressive
University Episode 8!
Crack open a St. Paddy’s Day brew (if you’re 21 or older) and bring your
questions for us and our guests as we discuss the present and future of
this impactful legislative session. We’re joined by:
* Laura Martin, Executive Director for PLAN
* Emily Zamora, Executive Director for Silver State Voices
* Cecia Alvarado, Executive Director for Mi Familia Vota
* Holly Welborn, Policy Director for ACLU of Nevada
* Paul Selberg, Executive Director of Nevada Conservation League
From clean energy, to criminal justice reform, to voting rights, and more,
[ [link removed] ]we’ll be breaking it all down tomorrow evening!
Hope to see you (virtually) very soon!
Will Pregman
Communications Director
P.S. While we all miss those fabulous 8-hour overnight bus rides to Carson
City, this pandemic is still keeping us out of the legislative building
for the time being. However, you can still make your voice heard to your
elected officials at an opportunity coming up next week, March 22nd
through March 25th. We and our partners are hosting Conservation Lobby
Week, four straight days of virtual meetings with legislators and nightly
town halls to discuss policy to protect our planet! [ [link removed] ]RSVP to join
Conservation Lobby Week here no later than Thursday, March 18th so you can
be a part of this year’s climate and public lands lobbying effort!
