Citizens for Schimpf

Friend --

It has officially been one month on the campaign trail. Thank you all for your support this far!

Most of you are parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. On the one year anniversary of "14 days to slow the spread," it is clear how much our children have suffered socially and developmentally. They missed out on months of school, sports, proms and more.

Graduation season is coming soon. SIU-Carbondale has announced that they will host an outdoor ceremony for 2020 and 2021 graduates. I wrote this letter to encourage Governor J.B. Pritzker, Dr. Ngozi Ezike, and Dr. Carmen Ayala to allow high schools and middle schools to host indoor, in person graduation ceremonies this year.

ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL

In the last week, I spoke at a meeting at the Milton Township Republicans, attended a fundraiser in Orland Park, and hosted a Facebook Live with Regional Superintendent of Schools, Kelton Davis. Click here to watch our discussion about reopening Illinois schools in case you missed it!

IN THE PRESS

Schimpf on the Campaign Trail, Republic Times

Here is a very kind quote in the article from my friend Senator Terri Bryant,
"It's been a very long time since we as Illinoisans had somebody who we could look at and say 'this guy is the real deal.' When people ask me, 'does Paul Schimpf have a chance to win?' I say, 'I've never seen anybody who has a better chance.'"

Schimpf calls Frerich's letter 'an embarrassment'

“This letter from Treasurer Frerichs is an embarrassment," Schimpf said. "In these trying financial times, he should be worrying about maximizing the rate of return for Illinois investors, not bullying asset managers about their political donations. I expect this type of conduct from an Iraqi despot, not the Treasurer of the State of Illinois.”

ON PAUL'S CALENDAR

Today at 4pm we are hosting a Facebook Live marking one month since we announced my campaign for Governor. Follow along at this link.

Have a wonderful week!

S/F,

Paul Schimpf
