As the Senate debated the COVID-19 relief bill, Cruz used his time to tell an obvious, disgusting lie about immigrants. He claimed that undocumented people would get stimulus checks and asked the Senate to pass his amendment to prevent that -- except undocumented immigrants wouldn't have gotten stimulus checks anyway.
People are suffering from this pandemic. People are dying. And yet, instead of delivering relief for millions of people across this country, Cruz decided to use his time to spew lies and further demonize immigrants.
When Republicans lie so brazenly, people like you take note and hold them accountable. That's how we evicted Trump from the White House, unseated his lying loyalists in Georgia, and flipped the Senate so we have a fighting chance of passing legislation to help immigrants in America.
Still, Ted Cruz's latest lie proves Republicans will continue to demonize immigrants at every opportunity. We're trying to defend immigrant communities from the GOP's dishonest cruelty, but Republicans keep promoting lie after lie, and we're almost out of funds to keep up.
