During this ongoing public health crisis, it is so important that every North Texan has health insurance. I am writing today to let you know that President Biden has opened a special enrollment period to enroll or change your Healthcare Marketplace insurance plan due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The special enrollment period ends on May 15. During this open enrollment period, you can enroll for 2021 health care coverage if you are currently uninsured, or make changes to your existing plan. The marketplace website allows you to compare plans and apply for help if you have trouble affording coverage. You can find the health care insurance plan application and more information by visiting HealthCare.gov.

As your Congressman, your health and safety is my top priority. Since my first day in Congress, I’ve been fighting to protect the Affordable Care Act, expand access and lower health care costs across the board. The pandemic began over a year ago, and a special enrollment period for health care is long overdue. I am pleased that the Biden Administration has taken this important step so that more North Texans can get the coverage they need. If you do not currently have health insurance, it is important to apply today.
