Dear Maine Conservation Voter,

We have hit the year mark since the pandemic hit our corner of the world and changed life as we knew it. May your health and your spirits be well during what—we all hope—is the final stretch.

Like many of you, one of my favorite pandemic activities has been hiking in Maine's wilderness and open spaces. With spring just around the corner, all of us at Maine Conservation Voters are delighted to offer you a chance to get outside with a purpose! In celebration of Earth Day 2021, we invite you to hike a Land for Maine's Future trail near you while helping to raise money for conservation efforts right here in Maine.

Hiking a trail made possible by the Land for Maine's Future program is significant this year because we are asking the Maine Legislature to place a Land for Maine's Future bond question on the ballot in November. This program, that is overwhelmingly popular in Maine, is out of funds. Legislators have rejected sending a bond package to voters the last few years and we're hoping this year will be different. That’s why we need your help!

The Land for Maine's Future program has secured public access to mountains, lakes, and shorelines in all 16 Maine counties. The Land for Maine’s Future program allows access to outdoor recreation, mitigates climate change, and contributes to Maine’s economy.

In celebration of this Earth Day, I invite you to visit land that is forever protected through the Land for Maine's Future program and share your words about the importance of these lands and photos from your hike with the legislators who represent you.

Participating in this Earth Day event will go far at protecting Maine lands. It's your opportunity to hike, donate, and a dvocate!

Register today to join in on fun with a purpose this Earth Day! [[link removed]]

May you be well and enjoy the beauty of Maine,

Stacie
