Gifts of
Joy do so much more than honor loved ones and make special occasions
unforgettable. They make a real — often lifesaving — impact
in the lives of children whose health and well-being are in jeopardy.
Every Gift of Joy you give reaches children and families overcome by
poverty, war and emergency situations with survival essentials like
nutritious food, clean water, medicine and health care, and protection
right when they need it most.

In Yemen,
8-month-old Suha* is just one of millions of children struggling to
survive the world’s worst humanitarian crisis. The country is
ravaged by war and more than 2 million children under 5 do not have
enough to eat, while at least 2,200 are on the brink of
starvation.

Suha’s mother Mariam* arrived at a Save the
Children health center in Yemen’s highlands unsure if her baby
would survive. Suha was suffering from acute malnutrition and would
likely not survive without immediate care. |

Health
workers quickly diagnosed the severity of Suha’s condition and
began treatment. She received nutritional supplements and a supply of
PlumpyNut® — a
nutritious protein-dense ready-to-eat peanut paste. |

Mariam
also received instructions on how to better support Suha’s
nutrition and that of her eldest daughter, 2-year-old Manar,* who also
suffered from malnutrition as a baby. Thanks to the generosity of people
like you, their future is brighter than ever. |
