Please join us on April 25th at 7:00 p.m. as we honor longtime AJC Board member Senator Cheryl C. Kagan with the Hyman Bookbinder Award for exemplary leaders who demonstrate the energy and spirit of Jewish advocacy. Hyman "Bookie" Bookbinder was the quintessential relationship-builder, connecting with everyone from presidents to activists in his role as AJC's Washington representative. Special guests and political leaders from our community will pay tribute to Senator Kagan for her commitment to the Jewish people and to making the world a better place.

Senator Kagan represents Rockville and Gaithersburg. In the community, Kagan is a founding and active member of Congregation Har Shalom in Potomac and a new board member of the National Association of Jewish Legislators. Numerous organizations have recognized Kagan's leadership. She has been named as one of Maryland's Top 100 Women, a "Municipal Super Star," Maryland Association of Counties "Legislator
of the Year," National 9-1-1 Institute's "Leader of the Year," and the Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County's "Peacemaker of the Year." Kagan has an unwavering dedication to coalition-building, common sense problem-solving, and community values.

Chairs:
Toby Dershowitz, David Farber, Thomas Kahn, and William Kreisberg
