Subject: What the D.C. establishment just did
The other day, the D.C. establishment forced another member of our team to leave our campaign. They’ve been threatening to blacklist anyone who works with a progressive challenger to one of their incumbents. That’s the third time this has happened since I launched my campaign.
Look, I get it. The DCCC exists to elect Democrats to the House, and a big part of that is supporting their incumbents. But this is different.
Dan Lipinski is anti-choice, anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ equality, and anti-Obamacare. He’s not the kind of Democrat we need. And now he’s so worried about our campaign that he’s calling in favors to his allies in D.C. -- asking them to tear down anyone who would dare work with us. If that sounds familiar, it’s because these intimidation tactics are straight out of the machine politics playbook.
It’s dirty, it’s unfair, and it’s bad for democracy -- but it’s what we’re up against. And it’s not going to stop me from fighting for what’s right.
