Despite Republican obstruction, we just made history.

The Senate confirmed the first Native American Cabinet member of any agency, and the first Indigenous secretary of the Department of Interior -- former Congresswoman Deb Haaland! 

This is a profoundly historic moment given the long and troubled relationship between the federal government and tribal nations, and Secretary Haaland’s nomination and tenure as Interior secretary will do so much to begin to heal that rift.
