Team,

The final version of the American Rescue Plan has passed the House and is on the way to President Biden's desk where he is expected to sign the bill into law.

We've spent the last few weeks in the House fighting to pass a COVID-19 relief bill that will help struggling Americans and get our economy back on track. I'm thankful that we've come to an agreement on a comprehensive package that will provide much-needed relief.

The finalized version of the $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package includes:
  • Extended unemployment benefits
  • Stimulus checks
  • Funding for the Paycheck Protection Program
  • Expansion of the child tax credit
  • Aid for state and local governments
  • Funding for vaccine distribution and our schools
  • Rental and utility assistance

I'm proud this final package has the aid for our state and local governments for which I've advocated, including $1 billion in assistance for New Hampshire's state government and $500 million for our municipalities.

As we approach one year of the pandemic, I'm thinking of our brave frontline workers and of everyone who has lost a loved one to COVID-19. We have a long way to go to recover from this crisis, but I believe this bill will make significant strides toward ending the pandemic and helping our nation heal.

Stay safe and healthy,

Chris
