Bad news. Former vice president Mike Pence is back on the political stage, planning to make his first public speech next month since leaving office.
“Mr. Pence's choice of a venue for the appearance — a dinner next month in South Carolina that is being hosted by a social conservative organization — suggests that he is happy to keep stoking speculation that he may run for president in 2024,” The New York Times reports.
Let's make one thing clear. Mike Pence was a terrible congressman, a wretched governor, and an abject failure as vice president. But he's incredibly popular among the Republican base, and we're worried this speech could help him gain traction right as speculation is starting to heat up.
