Right now, thanks to mass mobilization by organizations promoting Palestinian rights, there are letters to Secretary of State Antony Blinken in both the Senate and in the House of Representatives. Both of these letters urge the State Department to increase pressure on the Israeli government to uphold its obligations under international law and provide the COVID-19 vaccine to Palestinians. The vaccine apartheid we are witnessing is just the latest example of how the Israeli government actively denies Palestinians their right to health and healthcare. Right now, the Israeli government is denying the vaccine to 5 million Palesinians living under its brutal military occupation. But the Israeli government is obligated under international law to provide the vaccine to Palestinians living under military occupation -- and the US government should pressure it to do so.
