Hi All!
First, a reminder that there's NO Bread and Roses meeting tonight. We aren't taking a break, just taking a break from meeting this week. We'll see you next Monday at 7 PM as usual.
Second, the Elizabeth Freeman Center is hosting a virtual county-wide read of "Stop Telling Women to Smile: How We're Taking Back Our Power" by Tatyana Fazlalizadeh in April to mark Sexual Assault Awareness Month. (Flyer attached). Please
fill out this form if you would like to participate. Dates and times will be announced soon. To learn more about the book, visit
http://stoptellingwomentosmile.com/ If you can't afford a copy, one will be provided for you.
Third, here are some things that are happening this week:
Tomorrow, Tuesday, March 16th at 7 PM, Beth Huang from Boston DSA will join us for a special meeting on how to do power mapping, with a focus on public transportation in Berkshire County. Power mapping is a way of parsing out the power dynamics underlying a problem so that clear goals, strategies, allies, and opponents are identifiable. Please email us for the link. Bonus if you know a lot about Berkshire county public transportation! The more info, the better! If not, that's ok, too. Power mapping is an effective strategy in any social justice action.
Wednesday, March 17th at 6 PM, Take Back the Grid is meeting to discuss the Utility Relief for all Campaign. Please email us for the link.
🌹Thursday, March 18th at 7 PM, Monthly Membership Meeting +Election🌹 Come one, come all, come vote at our yearly election! If you'd still like to nominate someone, this is your last chance! Positions up for re-election are co-chair, secretary/treasurer, and communications coordinated. We're excited to welcome our new elected officials, so please join us!
This is an opportunity to get involved in the statewide campaign with Take Back the Grid. Chapters from across MA are meeting to work together to support this awesome campaign.
Register here to attend.Thank you, everyone! Enjoy the sunshine!
In solidarity,
Abby
