Good evening,
5 years ago at this time I was on the way to our campaign headquarters after visiting multiple polling locations throughout the day. The 2016 primary was about to come to a close and I was eager to see the election results.
As I gathered with my team and started to realize I would likely be the winner and the nominee for the June special election, I was overcome with emotion, and prayerful. I was very thankful for my team and also for all of those who supported me. To this day, I remain humbled and grateful to be the Member of Congress for Ohio's 8th district.
As you've heard me say many times before, I view serving in Congress as a return to active duty. I love this country with a soldier's passion, and I will continue to do my part to stop the democrats' crazy policies and not let our country go down the socialist path. This country has given me so much and I will always fight to defend freedom.
