Hey there -- A.G. Holder asked me to update him about our mid-month goal tomorrow morning. I'm hoping I can tell him we reached $65,000 for our fight to pass the For the People Act. But we're not quite there yet. If you haven't already donated, can you pitch in now?

Let me tell you why this is so important. The Atlantic reported that the For the People Act is our "only chance to stop the GOP assault on voting rights." The truth is, their assault is like nothing I've ever seen.

They aren't even bothering to hide how racist their voter suppression bills are. Take the bill recently passed by the Georgia House: It would have most counties add additional early voting days and hours but "limit larger, more diverse, and Democratic-leaning counties."

This is happening all over the country; the Brennan Center reports at least 253 voter suppression bills so far in 2021, a more than 600 percent increase over the same period last year. But I'm not telling you this to make you upset -- I'm telling you because we're fighting back and we need your help.

The federal For the People Act can nip many of these horrible bills in the bud, end congressional gerrymandering, and limit the influence of money in politics. We need it badly, and we need it right now. Your donation will help us accomplish the challenging task of getting it through the Senate and in front of President Biden for signature and then help us fight against map manipulators throughout the redistricting process.
