March is Women’s History Month, and we’re celebrating here at the Montana Democratic Party by fighting for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment.
Now that Virginia has ratified the Equal Rights Amendment, we have the required 38 states to bring this constitutional amendment to the Senate!
As the late Justice Ginsburg said, “Every constitution written since the end of World War II includes a provision that men and women are citizens of equal stature. Ours does not.”

Women’s rights should not be a partisan issue -- it’s an issue of human rights and preserving the promise of American opportunity for all.
The Equal Rights Amendment states that “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex.” We can’t think of a better way to celebrate Women’s History Month than by supporting such a historic amendment!
