Hey there,
I first met Elissa Slotkin in 2017, when we were just two Michigan women with a few things in common.
First, we had both worked in the Obama administration -- I had been Chief of Staff on the Auto Rescue Task Force, and Elissa had been at the Pentagon serving in a national security role.
Second, we were both running for office in neighboring Michigan districts that had been long-represented by Republicans. At the time, the districts we represent now were considered places where Democrats couldn't win.
Fast forward nearly four years, and we’ve both won two tough elections, and fought to work to address the issues that most impact Michiganders.
Recently, we were proud to pass the National Apprenticeships Act of 2021, which would help connect Michiganders with good-paying jobs. Included in the bill were provisions from both of us! Mine ensures small- and medium-sized businesses have the opportunity to create registered apprenticeships. And Elissa’s provision ensures some of those apprenticeships are for good-paying, green jobs.
But once again, Elissa and I are both top targets of national Republican groups, and our races will be two of the most competitive of 2022. Republicans only need five seats to take the House majority, so ensuring Elissa and I both head back to Congress next term is key.
I’m asking if you’ll consider contributing today with a donation that will be split between our two campaigns.
We both appreciate your support!
Haley
