Friend —

Today is the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's birthday.

Let's all honor Justice Ginsburg's legacy by supporting prochoice candidates in 2021 and beyond.

"The state controlling women is both denying her full autonomy
and full equality with men." -- Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Justice Ginsburg was a titan of gender justice and a protector of reproductive freedom.

For decades, she argued that abortion rights are necessary for equality and autonomy -- and she fought for access to contraceptives as part of comprehensive healthcare access for all.

Now, her legacy stands vulnerable to the most anti-choice, extreme Supreme Court we've seen in generations.

We need local and state leaders who will protect reproductive freedom, even if (when) the Supreme Court guts Roe v. Wade.

In honor of RBG, Contribute to Prochoice Candidates >>

Without Justice Ginsburg on the court, our local and state-level leaders must carry the torch.

In 2021, we've seen 384 anti-abortion provisions introduced in 43 states, and now 3 in 10 active federal judges were appointed by President Trump.

Every person seeking elected office must be prepared to protect reproductive freedom:

  • District Attorneys must refuse to prosecute abortion seekers
  • School Boards must champion science-based sexual education
  • City Councils must ban false propaganda from "crisis pregnancy centers" (AKA fake abortion clinics)

84% of our 2020 #VOTEPROCHOICE candidates were local or state level -- 82% were women, and 46% were people of color.

This year alone, there are over 45,000 races across the country. Help us elect prochoice champions in every single one.

P.S. -- One of our favorite #VOTEPROCHOICE candidates, Jennifer Carroll Foy, has an amazing connection to Justice Ginsburg's legacy! Justice Ginsburg wrote the majority opinion in United States v. Virginia, the case that struck down the Virginia Military Institute's male-only admission policy. Just seven years later, Jennifer Carroll Foy received her bachelor's degree from the Virginia Military Institute as part of the third class of female cadets ever.

Jennifer Carroll Foy is now running for governor of Virginia, and we're SO proud to support her.
