In just a few moments, I am going to ask you to make a contribution to VoteVets before tonight’s FEC fundraising deadline. But before I do, you deserve to hear why I believe your donation is so important – especially right now.
During the 2016 presidential election, I appeared in a television ad taking Donald Trump to task for his dangerous vision for America's role in the world. I did this because during my time in service I was responsible for the lives of our sons and daughters everywhere from Iraq to Somalia.
And for those of us who took the oath, we believe the Constitution and the rule of law must be protected, at all costs. We put our lives on the line for it. The least our Congress can do is put it before political considerations.
That puts us — veterans and military families — at the tip of the spear in this impeachment fight. And with tonight's critical FEC fundraising deadline coming to a close, I have to ask:
The vast majority of the contributions that VoteVets receives come from people giving small amounts of money. As you go, so goes the organization. So making your donation before our fundraising deadline ends tonight means a lot for VoteVets’ mission and what we’re able to accomplish in the weeks and months ahead.
