Washington Post Editorial Board: Republicans' rhetoric on H.R. 1 is apocalyptic. Are they that afraid of democracy?

Friend -- Are Republicans afraid of democracy? It sure looks like it. They're fighting tooth and nail to stop the much-needed For the People Act from getting to President Biden's desk. Even former Vice President Mike Pence wrote a column opposing the legislation in which he repeats Republican lies about "troubling voting irregularities" in the 2020 election.
Let's talk facts. The GOP is pushing an unprecedented number of voter suppression bills in swing states. They've admitted that they don't want more people to vote because high turnout leads to Democratic wins. Their opposition to the For the People Act is based solely on their reelection prospects. And guess what -- that's not going to fly.
Under the leadership of A.G. Holder, the NDRC and our affiliates are going all-out to get this bill through the Senate. But it won't be easy, so we need your help. Will you pitch into our $65,000 mid-month goal to help us get this done?
