John,
Before we get any closer to our mid-month fundraising deadline, we wanted to share the reason why your support from emails like this one are critical to our success, especially this month. That reason is Facebook.
To make a long story short, Facebook banned political figures and organizations like Truth to Power from running fundraising ads following the November election—and they only lifted this ban a little less than two weeks ago.
For a grassroots organization like ours that depends on individual contributions, this ban effectively cut down our fundraising revenue in a big way—and hindered our movement’s growth—for over four months.
Now, with this crucial fundraising outlet just coming back, we’re trying to catch up to our fundraising goals for this month before it’s too late. Please help us bridge this fundraising gap by chipping in $3 or whatever you’re able to afford right now.
If you've stored your info with ActBlue Express, we'll process your contribution instantly:
In 2020, your contributions helped us support the campaigns of 28 candidates, many of whom were brand new to politics and were running for office because they believed something needed to change—not because they were looking to fulfill a corporate or establishment agenda.
We’re proud to be largely funded by individual donors like you who chip in when they can. We don’t accept a single dime from corporate PACs, lobbyists, or special interests, and we only work with candidates who are committed to fight for families and challenge corruption in Washington.
So when a major source of fundraising like Facebook goes unexpectedly dark on us for a third of the year, we won’t turn to wealthy donors to cut us checks to make up the difference. In moments like these, we will instead politely ask you to chip in what you can to help us make up the difference:
Thanks for making our work possible, John.
