San Francisco is preparing for its Housing Element - get involved!
SF YIMBY Logo

SF Planning Dept. is updating the City’s General Plan, a roadmap for growth and change over time. We need YIMBYs to speak up for goals and policies that will end the City's housing shortage!

Sign up for SF Planning Events March 15-26!

It's time for YIMBYs to speak up for housing! San Francisco Planning Department meetings are an important opportunity for YIMBYs to advocate for abundant housing - apartments, fourplexes and multifamily housing - while encouraging SF Planning Department to push for an end to exclusionary zoning this housing cycle.

Learn more about Housing Elements and attend focus groups that align with your values: A variety of meetings are being hosted, from learning more about what General Plan revisions are all about to meetings that focus on specific subjects like COVID-19 recovery strategies, racial and social equity, safety and resilience, and transportation.

Two weeks, flexible scheduling: Meetings are duplicated over two weeks and hosted at different times to accommodate a variety of schedules. Take some time to review the offerings on the website. Click on individual meetings to be taken to each meeting's unique registration form. Upon registration, you'll receive a Zoom link to that particular meeting via email.

Become a Housing Elements Watchdog!

Organize for Housing Elements excellence: Once you've RSVP'd to attend a few workshops, sign up to become a Housing Elements Watchdog! We'll send you talking points, ask you to report back after meetings, and keep you up to date with more opportunities to help cities rezone for inclusive communities.

Everyday people, extraordinary results: Don't worry that you're not an urban planner or policy expert. This effort is about showing planners, policymakers and the public that YIMBYs care deeply about the future of San Francisco, that we're watching what they do and won't tolerate the anti-housing attitudes or status quo behaviors of the past.
