Last month, an unelected parliamentarian attempted to deprive 32 million Americans of the raise they deserve. She issued an advisory ruling that the COVID-19 relief package could not be used to raise the minimum wage, citing an arcane rule.
It is inhumane that the $7.25 an hour minimum wage hasn’t increased in more than a decade. Millions of Americans are struggling to provide for their families — a struggle that has only been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Join LeftNet and me in calling on President Biden and Vice President Harris, as President of the Senate, to disregard this procedural roadblock and continue to fight for a $15/hr minimum wage, even if not in a COVID relief bill, and finally delivering a livable wage for the people.

Not only is a $15/hr minimum wage widely popular with folks across the country, but it’s also critical in order for working families to stay afloat.
Just look at the numbers: Raising the minimum wage would increase the wages for 31% of Black workers, 26% of Latinx workers, and 60% of workers living in poverty.
It’s time we raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. The American people have struggled without a livable wage for too long. Demand President Biden and Vice President Harris ignore this arcane Senate rule and finally deliver a $15 minimum wage. >>
In solidarity,
