“I am not going anywhere,” Josh Hawley told his audience of Trump loyalists at CPAC. “And I am not backing down -- not a chance.”
As Hawley himself said at CPAC, even after the Jan. 6 attack, he still refuses to back down from his far-right, extremist views. He still refuses to admit that Joe Biden fairly won the 2020 election, and Hawley was among the first to fight against certifying the results.
But ultimately, Hawley didn't succeed in overturning the election. He doesn't even have the full support of his GOP colleagues. And every day, he has to face all the Democratic senators who are dedicated to actually serving their constituents instead of pulling publicity stunts like Hawley.
Still, there's a clear reason Hawley continues to spew Trump's lies. Ever since Jan. 6, Hawley has raked in $1.5 million in campaign contributions, and fundraising appeals sent by the National Republican Senatorial Committee under Hawley's name raised more last month than those of almost all other senators.
Every single dollar Hawley and the GOP raise is another dollar they spend to get more Trump loyalists elected to the Senate. We're rushing to keep up with them, but we're falling behind -- and we need you to help us make up today's $1,473 shortfall.
Especially now that several GOP senators have announced their retirement plans, we MUST throw our full weight behind Democrats in Senate races -- and make sure Trump loyalists don't fill those open seats.
