Republicans are revamping their smear campaign against Democratic Senator Tammy Duckworth, painting her as “anti-family” to take back the one seat Mitch McConnell needs to get his Senate Majority Leader title back next year.

Republicans have used these dirty tactics against Duckworth before. Fox News' Tucker Carlson once attacked the Thai-American veteran for calling attention to racism, saying that “when vandals like Tammy Duckworth … tell us that we're not allowed to question their patriotism, even as they scream about how horrible America is, we have every right to laugh in their faces, and we should.”

Carlson's nativist attacks against Sen. Duckworth are nothing new for the Republican party, which has grown increasingly hostile to Democratic women of color. As the GOP tries every underhanded tactic they know to take back the Senate, we know there's more where that came from.

That's why we're standing by Sen. Tammy Duckworth and building the coalition to defend the Democrats' slim majority in the Senate. We know this race will be tight, John -- Duckworth unseated her Republican incumbent by just five points in 2016.
