The countries of the Northern Triangle—Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador—lose more than 3 percent of their GDP to organized crime annually. By passing the United States-Northern Triangle Enhanced Engagement Act, the Biden administration has some new tools to support anti-corruption measures and curb irregular migration from the region.
