Dear John,
It is crunch time for Ranked Choice Voting in Minnesota and we need just a few minutes of your time.
H.F. 89 - the bill that would bring RCV to Minnesota - will be heard in the Local Government Division on Wednesday, March 17 at 8:30am. We need you to take a moment to help us advance the bill. You can take three critical steps with just one click [[link removed]] :
1. Urge majority members of the Local Government Division to hold a vote on HF 89 and advance the bill out of committee;
2. Urge other members of the committee to support RCV and vote yes to advance HF 89 out of committee;
3. Submit a letter of testimony to be included in the committee’s official record.

Your email and testimony to legislators are one of the most powerful steps you can take to help advance a bill.
This tool also allows you to send a message to all committee members expressing your views. We have prepared a sample message and talking points to make it easy for you, but, editing or better yet, writing your own is even better. If you are writing your own, please focus on the following:
1. RCV stops the spoiler problem and prevents parties from exploiting it to take votes away from another party
2. We have reached a crisis point in our political polarization, and now is the time to pass RCV, incentivize candidates to be civil, build broad majority coalitions to win and be responsive once in office.
3. RCV opens up the electoral process to new and diverse voices and gives voters more power and more choice.
4. Minnesota’s local experience with RCV has been a resounding success, and my community deserves the opportunity to use it if we wish.
For more detail, see our talking points [[link removed]] , also included in the contact committee tool.
We are fighting hard for a stronger democracy, and we can’t thank you enough for everything you are doing to move this legislation forward!
