Things aren't looking so good in the Texas legislature, friend.
Texas Tribune: "Republican who helped Trump campaign challenge Joe Biden's win will lead election work in Texas House" Help us fight for fair elections! |
When Donald Trump claimed without evidence that the election had been stolen from him, Republican State Rep. Briscoe Cain flew all the way to Pennsylvania to help challenge the results. Now the same man will be chair of the Elections Committee in the Texas House.
At a time when Texas Republicans have already named "election integrity" as one of their top priorities, Cain's appointment signals they intend to go all out on new ways to suppress the vote. It's our job to fight back and defend every Texan's -- and every American's -- access to the ballot.
In addition to working to end gerrymandering, we've made defending voting rights a core part of our mission. But we're counting on this grassroots team to keep up our work.
If you're able, please pitch in today to help us keep up our fight for fair maps and voting rights in Texas and across the country:
