Hello Friend, I’m often on social media — following the news, tracking trends, reading what Green members and supporters are saying. I keep thinking about this recent post from International Women’s Day on March 8. Have you seen it? Women are underrepresented at the highest levels of politics. Sexism and misogyny are still present in our culture and around the world. Every day, women face difficulty simply because they’re women. And the lack of women in positions of power and leadership means there aren’t enough voices speaking out to demand change. Greens always have and always will stand against inequality and injustice. In fact, we have led the way in the march towards a more just and fair society. Annamie Paul is currently the only woman (and the first ever Black and Jewish woman) to lead a major federal party! This is why I’m writing to you. The Green Party is making a difference in Canadian politics. Annamie, our hardworking MPs and engaged members are championing our Green values and fighting for a better future for us all. We’re addressing the issues people across Canada are facing with hard work and innovative solutions. Canada needs more Greens in Parliament, and that means we need you! With talk of a possible election this year, I’m passionate about doing all we can to send a lot more Greens to Ottawa. With your help, we’re going to make this our best election ever. Sonia Berlima P.S. – Make sure you’re following the GPC on social media! That’s where you’ll find event videos, letter-writing campaigns and so much more. |
